Work At Home Vs. Fuel Costs And Commute

I just sat down and did some figuring of what I spend per week to get
to my J.O.B. and I am shocked, amazed, and frankly sickened at the
results. Let me first start off by saying that drive 40 miles to work.
That is one way so let's figure this one out. 80 miles/ day driving.
400 miles/week driving to and from work. In my vehicle that gets
24 miles to the gallon let's figure out the cost of driving to work for
one week. I am going to give the benefit of the doubt to the fuel
company and say that I am only going to pay $3.79 per gallon of
fuel. The total cost of my fuel per week is $63.16 given the figures
above. The cost per month to go to and from work is $273.69.
Now, I want to give a figure as to what my employer says my time
is worth to them. Let me do this so that you might relate as well.
Let me say that my employer believes my worth is $12/ hour. I spend
one and one half hours during the commute. So daily if I were thinking
this correctly I would lose $18 of my worth to the commute. $90 per
week and $390 per month. Let's do some addition here.

My monthly loss on fuel $237.69
My monthly wage loss for commute $390

My total monthly loss for my J.O.B. $627.69
My total gross income given $12 as wage $2080/month

NET $1452.31
Take taxes out and I hope that you don't have family or really need
anything to eat. Heaven forbid you actually have a car payment or
need to do repairs.


Now the same scenario with home based business.....

Let's take the one that I am currently using.

One time $265 payment
$65 monthly payment
$20 internet connection fee
$50 power usage (max)

total first month $335
additional months $135

income potential $$$$$$

$2,000 (min) - $135 = $1865 per month

I just made nearly $5000 more by staying at home
and working my online business. Does it make sense
to keep running in the wheel? You decide.
